We were asked to take this gorgeous lad, Simba, from another rescue.

“Hi Lizzy, My boss sent me this, this morning. New GSD in last night Good with other dogs, would Lizzy be able to take him?

He was owned by an Indian family and kept in the garden with only the shed for shelter. The Indian couple have split up and neither of them wanted to keep him He is on the skinny side and has a few mats in his coat.

So I’ve called him Simba and looking at him in the flesh today he definitely isn’t 9 months old I’m not sure how old he is to be honest! He has really bad ears poor sod which haven’t been treated and have been infected for ages. He has seen the vet today and has been prescribed Canaural – they have also taken a swab to send off to the lab then Vicky said he would get other treatment once the results are back.”

We believe Simba is about 3.5 years of age. His vaccinations will be restarted and he will be neutered once he has settled in. Ears have been treated and are clearing up nicely with Aurizon after the results came back.

Simba is a super friendly lad and is currently in foster with other dogs. He has shown no aggression towards them and is spending time watching more than anything. He would be fine with older children. Cats unknown.

Simba deserves a home that is going to give him the time and care he so deserves and in return he will be a gorgeous addition to your family.

Simba, now called Diego, has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
