This poor young lad is Ty who will be 2 in April. He is currently entire, vaccinations have been started but he is microchipped. We were asked to take Ty in urgently as he was gifted to a man who is too frail to look after him so he was basically left tied to the railings outside of his flat in a tower block and relied on donations of food for Ty. Ty is underweight at present…

We went back the day after assessment to collect Ty to discover his dad had died overnight and Ty was with the police. The poor man was only 60 and had been living in squalor, relying on food banks. He had a key worker so how could this happen in this day and age?!

Ty is a very friendly lad and just craves human attention. Not a full GSD, bit of Herder or Mali maybe. Our volunteer took Ty for a walk and he soon settled with her on the busy streets of London just wanting to say hello to everyone. Barked at another dog he saw but soon focused back on our vollie. He obviously has not been getting exercised nor socialisation with other dogs, but did not come across as being aggressive, just not sure what to do.

No young children purely because he has not really encountered them. Unknown with cats. May benefit from the company of an older bitch. This lads just needs a normal home where he will be treated as a dog should be and gets the exercise and training he needs.

Ty’s foster home have decided they cannot bear to part with him so he has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
