This lovely lad is Ben who is 8 years young. He is not neutered and his vaccinations are up to date and he is microchipped. We are told he is GSD cross Collie but not a lot of Collie there. Ben’s owner is an older lady and not very mobile now and Ben is craving much more exercise than she is able to give him. He is wary of young children and staffies, but fine with other dogs. Unknown with cats.
This is what our volunteer had to say about him:
“I was greeted by Ben at the door, he was quiet and very very friendly, he greeted me with kisses and wanted a fuss made of him, which he allowed me to do. Ben is a cross which in a way makes him slightly different but in a positive way as he has an adorable face and looks very much like a Shepherd. Ben was friendly the whole time I was there, he sat, stayed and had recall. We played fetch with his ball which he loved and he allowed me to remove his favourite toy (a ball) from his mouth with no issues. Ben is currently much loved by his owner but feels Ben is no longer getting the life he deserves due to her deteriorating health issues which makes her less mobile, Ben is currently being walked by a charity but this is nowhere near enough as Ben needs/wants more as he is a lively happy 8 year old. When out on His walks Ben socialises very well with all dogs of all varieties but is afraid of staffie type breeds. Ben currently lives with another dog of small terrier size and they get on great. He is obvious house trained and displayed nothing more than good manners.”
Now in foster.
Lucky Ben is staying with his foster family.
Ben found himself a super family to spend the rest of his life with, but sadly went to Rainbow Bridge today after suffering from the dreaded CDRM. The time was right and he went knowing love and fun was what life had been all about.
