Please meet Nellie who is 7 months old and a GSD cross. This is why we are helping to find her a home:

“Two days ago there was a 7 month old unspayed GSD cross for sale on Pets 4 Homes that was being passed around Facebook due to concerns for her welfare. She was originally a Romanian rescue 3 months ago and was now up for sale. (Please see attached photos of advert). As the location was near to where I live I contacted the owner (with a view to trying to get this pup to a safe place) and arranged to see Nellie.  I convinced the owner to hand Nellie over voluntarily (emailed consent) and brought Nellie to my house (Tonbridge, Kent).

Nellie is a lovely pup, vaccinated, microchipped and I have her passport and paperwork.  The Romanian rescue was one male who doesn’t offer any RBU! I am contacting you because I need assistance with Nellie if possible – I have 4 other dogs who have taken to her (and vice versa) very well but my experience is with Pointers rather than GSDs and I need help please to try and find her the right home with a proper adoption contract etc…

I have attached photos of Nellie – she’s been very good with my 13 year old son, very friendly but also still in that mouthing stage as the owner hadn’t been able to train her out of it.”

Having assessed Nellie this is what our volunteer has to say about her:

“Nellie is a typical boisterous young pup. She has a lovely nature and is great with the 13 year old son. In previous home she was good with the 12 year old daughter but mouthy and boisterous with the 2 year old son. She is good with dogs her own size/age but is very full on and lacks manners. She is too much for the smallest older dog as she often crashes into him.

She is great with all new people/dogs/older kids and well behaved on walks. She is happy to be examined and moved/held by anyone. She is a bit skinny but otherwise appears healthy. She does like to talk and barks at noises but can be left without chewing/barking. She hasn’t heard fireworks but heard distant gunshot whilst walking and no reaction.

Nellie would love an active home as its clear she has lots of energy and is very busy but clever. Will work for toys or treats! She also enjoys a cuddle!”
