May I introduce Rollo who was 1 year old in January. Currently entire, he is microchipped but his vaccinations are out of date. This lad is good with children and other dogs but does not like cats. He does need further lead work as he will pull to start and recall poor when out, but has no issues over his toys or food. Rollo can be left for a few hours without any problems and travels well in a car.
Rollo greeted our volunteer very excited, but sat and waited to be stroked. So, what is the issue with this lad? Rollo has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and possible elbow problems. This was diagnosed a year ago as he was limping on front and back limbs intermittingly. It was advised to monitor due to his age. Presently, his back legs will go to the side on occasion, but Rollo does not appear to be in any pain. It may well be the gun was jumped as it were as he was only 6 months old when x-rayed, and some of it could have been growing pains.
Rollo would benefit from a home that could get him swimming regularly to help build up his hind end without putting excess strain on his hips, and of course consideration to not doing too many stairs and too much jumping etc. In every other way this lad would be a super addition to most homes.
Rollo has been taken in by a family member.
