This young lad will be 3 in July and we are told he is a GSD cross Staffie. We think he may be a Mali cross Staffie but whatever he is, he is very cute! Chip is microchipped but still entire but vaccinations are up to date. Chip was living with the current owner’s father who is not well and wanted him gone, so they took him in. They cannot keep him long term however as they have another dog who won’t accept him so he is being kept separately at present.

This is what our volunteer had to say about him:

“Chip was initially wary but quickly approached me and was inquisitive. I gave him my hand he got excited and boisterous. At no point did I feel wary or uncomfortable. This boy is an overgrown pup who has had no social experience with many other dogs. According to his owners he is strong on a lead initially. He is ok with other dogs as long as they leave his ball, so more selective about other dogs in his space. Not shown aggression though and his recall is apparently great.

Chip is a big bundle of pent up energy; we played ball in the garden and he thought this was great. He was dropping the ball at my feet when prompted and was fine with me picking it up and throwing it for him. He won’t go in the garden alone, so a bit needy and he’s only been used to living with a male. Told he prefers men to women although I’m sure he would be happy with whoever was feeding him and giving him attention. He has lived with 3 cats since a puppy.

I think this dog would make a wonderful pet for someone with the time to give. Not many issues, good with cats which is a plus. All in all a really lovely dog who is being rehomed through no fault of his own.”

Someone must have a Chip size space in their home please.

Chip’s owners have worked hard with both dogs and they are now living happily together so he is not going anywhere!
