“Good afternoon,
I am contacting you in relation to a dog we are seeking assistance with in rehoming. The dog is a female GSD named Zara Aged approx. 4 yrs. She was seized under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 after she was found with another GSD locked in a van and a hot summers day last year with no water. The owner who was security dog handler was not present and was not located until several days later. The dog is a trained security dog so needs to be rehomed with the right home etc. We do not know the extent of the security training but we do know that the owner works at events like festivals.
The owner has been taken to Court and found guilty of neglect. He has been disqualified from keeping dogs from 12 months (great news). He has signed the dog over to the Police. Would you be able to assist in the rehoming of the dog or if you aren’t able to would you be able to provide details of any other recuse organisations that may be able to assist us.
I am desperate to try and find somewhere for the first dog having rescued it and it would be gutting to have to put her to sleep. “
Well of course we could not say no and Zara is now in our care where she has been a sweetheart so far. Friendly with everyone she has met and loves playing ball.
Zara is microchipped and fully vaccinated and according to her microchip she is also spayed.
No young children as we do not know her full history and unknown with cats. Seems fine around the other dogs at the kennels.
Zara will need a GSD experienced home who is aware of her potential previous training, but think this lovely lady will settle into just enjoying life with few issues.
