We were contacted by council kennels:
“We currently have a stray GSD who is looking for a rescue space from the 12th. Duke is very friendly towards all staff, he enjoys a cuddle and fuss. Duke is quite strong on lead and he does pull ahead. The vets who the dog warden collected him from mentioned that he was severely dog reactive, however since arriving with us we have not seen this behaviour. We do have a video of him meeting another dog if you would like to see this. We socialised him through the fence with a very boisterous lab and Duke seemed very playful and happy to greet, no signs of aggression. I have attached a photo of him, along with a behaviour assessment.”
Duke is now in our care and so far has been a really friendly lad who loves life and is full of energy. No major reaction to the other dogs at the kennels. He is 3 years of age. His vaccinations have been restarted and he is now neutered.
No young children as we do not know his full history but this super lad will fit into most homes experienced with the breed and what they need.
