“Bear is a very cheeky chap indeed he likes thing on his own terms and like people to ignore him when they first meeting as he does have trust issues. Bear does take time to get use to people but getting a lot better once he fully trusts you he is your baby and just wants cuddles and kisses. He does have food aggression.”
Bear is a GSD cross Husky. He is now neutered and fully vaccinated and microchipped. We are told he is not good with children, including the ones he lived with, nor other dogs or cats.
His owner has had Bear for 6 months having taken him from a friend. We were told he is ok on the lead but has no recall and limited commands. Our volunteer was unable to interact with Bear as he was not muzzled but seeing him through the window did not cause a severe reaction as expected and Bear did just turn and walk away.
Now in our kennels, Bear is a challenging lad as if he thinks you are not confident he will try it on. He is responding to firm commands and learning what is and what is not acceptable. Learning to socialise with people and starting to really enjoy playing and being trained.
This lad is going to need a lot of work and a very experienced and confident home to keep him on track.
