Bruno is available for adoption through GSRE – this is what his current owner says about him.

Bruno is a 6-year-old, male, short haired, sable German Shepherd. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and worm/flea treated. He has some skin allergies and takes Prednisone every other day which keeps this under control. He eats grain free Arden Grange hypoallergenic dry food mixed with grain free wet food. He has no other disclosed medical issues. He has lived in his current home since being 8 weeks old when he was bought from a breeder advertising online.

Bruno is being rehomed through GSRE as his current owner has to move house at the end of May and cannot take him with her and a change in circumstances means he is now being left alone for extended periods.

Bruno is good with children aged 10 years and over. He is selective with other dogs but gets on well with a relatives Labrador. He has never lived with another dog but his current owner believes that he might be able to live with a calm female. He is not good with cats and his reaction to livestock is unknown. He has never shown any aggression towards or bitten anyone. He will bark (not excessively) when somebody comes to the door but then he stops and is happy to let them in and described as being very friendly.

Bruno is currently left alone for up to 8 hours in the house with no destructive behaviour. He travels well in the car, lives indoors and is housetrained. He walks well on a ‘Dogmatic’ and will sometimes pull towards another dog but this is described as playful and not aggressive. He does have a recall and also knows sit, stay, down and leave. He does not show any possessive tendencies over food or toys. He is good when visiting the vets.

During the time the GSRE assessor spent with Bruno, this is what they said about him.
Bruno is quite a big boy but takes treats very gently. He knows all basic commands and loves to play with his toys. He is in lovely condition and seems to be a very happy dog.

Although the owner believes that Bruno prefers women to men, the assessors husband came to the meeting and Bruno loved him, bringing his ball for him to play.

Bruno really is a lovely boy and an adopter will feel lucky to rehome him.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
