1. Luna

Luna will be 3 in October. She is microchipped and we are told vaccinated but not spayed. Been in her home since a pup and now being rehomed due to owner’s ill health. We are told she is a GSD cross Mali but not seeing much Mali in her. Luna...
  2. Xena

Xena is a Belgian Mali and was 1 year old in July. She is microchipped and we are told vaccinated. Not yet had a season. Being rehomed due to lack of time needed for her breed meaning she is not getting the training or exercise she needs. “Xena is a...
  3. Sirus

This young lad has been in a home in the village near our kennels in Essex and been regularly escaping. This time someone managed to catch him and get him in their car. They tried to take him home but the door was shut in their face as he was...
  4. Zena

May I introduce Zena who will be 2 in October. She is microchipped and vaccinated, but not currently spayed. Zena has been in her home since a pup and is sadly being rehomed due to a domestic violence situation for her safety. Zena is good with other dogs, still an...
  5. Lucky

We were contacted by an RSPCA Officer to see if we could help this young lad. Lucky needed a new home as his owners were moving into rented accommodation where he would not be allowed. “Lucky shows promise in the working dog area, very protective of family and children, toy...
  6. Raffi

Raffi’s post said unless a rescue space can be found before 9am tomorrow morning, Raffi’s time is up and he will be pts. We were full but the pound pullers had emergency boarding available for a few weeks if a rescue could step up and take him on. Of course...
  7. Rocket

We were contacted by a vet who had been asked to euthanise this young man. She had never seen the dog before but from what she had been told she felt it was more a case of the dog being in the wrong environment. All we knew at that stage...
  8. Pearl

Another poor baby finding herself in the pound! She was microchipped but no joy in being reclaimed bless her and she was terrified of what was happening. Pearl was 1 in April. A beautiful girl who is full of life and fun but a real sweetheart. No young children as...
  9. Cadan

We received this from a London council we work with: “We have a Mali in that was abandoned by its owner outside a vet hospital, the dog had been brought to the attention of Battersea in Nov last year as the owner couldn’t cope and he was just left in...
  10. Negan

“I am emailing you regarding a possible rehoming candidate as you were recommended to me by another vet. I am a vet working in London. We had a 6 month old Malinois  brought in by his owner this evening requesting euthanasia after two separate bites of an adult in the...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
