1. Maya

This pretty little Mali girl is currently living at the kennels where the Notts dogs are kept. Maya is just 3 years old, sadly she has been crated for most of her short life and just let out for toilet breaks. She also arrived at the kennels wearing a prong...
  2. Lucy

We had a phone call at the weekend from a vet in Kent. They had been asked to euthanise Lucy. Apparently she had been purchased on Scumtree the day before, and had flown at father in law when he had come into the house. So unable to make contact with...
  3. Milo

Please meet Milo who is a dinky little Mali cross. Milo is neutered, fully vaccinated and chipped. He also had his dew claws off at the same time as his baubles. Milo was in the council pound and we were asked to take him in, of course we said yes....
  4. Goose

Just look at this gorgeous baby boy…..not a year old until December and already dumped in a dog pound awaiting the worse fate ever if no rescue space was found. A lovely friendly baby who has been great with all people he has met, has shown to be selective around...
  5. Winston

This little lad found himself in council kennels having been relinquished by his owner where the conditions were not great. Winston was only 8 months old when he came to us. A Mali cross, he is a big boy. No signs of malice; his biggest issue is his clumsiness bless...
  6. Lyra

1 Foster update – July – 2024 Just a quick update on Lyra We’ve had quite a week with her! Unfortunately the puppy food was too rich for her so we had explosive diarrhoea for three days! I gave her some pro kolin for three days and fed her just...
  7. Freya

May I introduce Freya who was born February 2021. She is microchipped, vaccinated and now spayed. Freya has been in her home since a pup but was sadly being rehomed as her temperament is not conducive with a young child in the house plus her owners will be moving to...
  8. Bruno

Well what can I say about this poor young lad! Bruno was born May 2021. He is microchipped but that’s it. We were asked by the RSPCA if we could take him on after he had been signed over by his owners who we were told were crack heads! Bruno...
  9. Hudson

Another young lad who was abandoned and found himself in council kennels where his time was up! Hudson is a GSD cross Mali and was about 18 months old when he arrived. Now neutered, microchipped and vaccinations have been restarted. Hudson can be quite nervous of new people to start...
  10. Mia

Feast your eyes on this sable coated beauty…. My name’s Mia and I am from the Notts area. Sadly for me I found myself dumped in a local dog pound with very little hope in sight. I did eventually bag myself this rescue space so at least I had a...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
