1. Blade

“Blade is a 9 year old German Shepherd although you would not think he is 9 as he behaves as though he were 4 or 5 years old. Blade could be heard barking when I arrived.  Introductions at the door by having a sniff of me, could obviously smell my...
  2. Leo

Meet Leo, he is 3yrs, still entire, chipped, we are told he is fully vaccinated but no card seen. His owner told us that he is fine with children and also other dogs, unknown with cats and livestock. Sadly the relationship between Leo and his owner has hit some issues...
  3. Captain Tom

Well what can we say about this lad! Captain Tom came into us during lockdown and was given his name by the council who picked him up as a stray. We believe he is about 12 years old but he was not microchipped but is neutered. This lovely old lad...
  4. Jet

Jet came into the rescue a nervous young man at the age of 4. In foster he was good with other dogs and the cats. Unknown with children. Jet needed a confident and calm home that could give him the patience he needed. The lucky lad spent 7 wonderful years...
  5. Max

We were asked by a local council to take in Max who had been picked up as a stray and with no microchip, no owner could be traced. This is what we were told: “I couldn’t find a chip, vet also checked and could not find one. I’ve had him...
  6. Boris aka Bosley

Have a look as this lovely old bloke, his name now is Boris, we think he is about 10yrs young, found by a member of the public wandering aimlessly around an industrial estate. She did ask around to see if he did indeed belong to anyone as he was not...
  7. Brinkley

May I introduce Brinkley who according to his microchip is 9 years old. Now neutered and vaccinations restarted. Brinkley came to us from a pound so little history known but we are told he is good with other dogs. No children as he can be a bit of a grump...
  8. Merlin

Cast your eyes on this lovely older lad. We recently took him in from the local dog warden as he had been dumped and ended up in stray kennels. He is still entire for now, fully vaccinated and chipped. Merlin has recently gone into foster care and is at last...
  9. Ember aka Amber

Beautiful Amber was adopted in 2020 but sadly her mum has passed away. She is currently being cared for by friends but will need a new home long term. Amber is now 10 years old. She would be best in a child free home due to her age and she...
  10. Milo

“Milo is a cheeky chap. Milo does have food aggression not over his food bowl but over large treats or bones so best not to give or if you do leave in another room. Milo loves meeting new people but doesn’t like to be over fussed at first, he does...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
