1. Barney Bear

Local kennels sent us this message: “Hi Lizzy, This may be a long shot and sorry to ask again….This little fella is down as a GSD X. 4-5 months. He has some health issues – bad back legs, had bald patches round his eyes but has had nexgard and has...
  2. Duchess

Duchess is coming up to 8yrs old, vaccinated, microchipped but not spayed. We have been told she had pups while in the pound. She’s been brilliant with everyone & everything she’s met since arriving earlier this week. Shown no toy or food aggression, not reactive to other dogs, we will...
  3. Zeus

Zeus came into us after this plea: “Seeking a rescue space please for an 8 month old GSD Boy with hip dysplasia BREED RESCUE prefered if possible just because the will know the condition. Council have had to the vets to xray and it has been confirmed. He is quite...

We were asked if we could help Rosie and Jimbo who are 7 years old we are told. Both are neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. This is their story: “I have two lovely GSD’s at my kennels that were a welfare case. These poor dogs have been in kennels for 22 months...
  8. Princess

Princess, as she has been named is just a baby and was only about 6 months old when we were asked to take her in from a dog warden. Princess was an absolute nervous wreck and could not be touched and just tried to hide from any human contact. With...
  9. Kaizer

Kaizer did go into a home on a foster basis and sadly after a couple of weeks, it seems he had an ‘episode’ and for no reason grabbed foster dad’s arm quite badly. This has also occurred once since being back at the kennels but fortunately the kennels were able...
  10. Reko

Reko is a GSD cross.  We have very little history on Reko but it is fair to say he is a very dominant lad who is very independent and not very trusting of people. Reko is very full on as you may expect and takes a while to get to...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
