Clever Cody is a well trained dog who knows how to sit, lie down, wait, return when called and give both paws. He has also been trained to walk on a halti.

Cody has spent a long time in kennels as he has undergone extensive training and while greatly improved he is cautious when meeting new people and barks if taken by surprise or startled. He was briefly rehomed with another dog but was returned for being protective of his adopters which was compromising the existing dogs welfare. In addition, he did make an attempt to guard his adopter from another person. Therefore, he requires an adult only home free from visiting children with people who are experienced with his breed. Preferably the home will be situated in a quiet area with not too many houses or noises nearby as he can bark at things he is unfamiliar with. He is muzzle trained, any new owner must accept that he has to wear his muzzle when out on walks and when initially meeting new people.

Once Cody bonds with you he is very affectionate and playful. Enjoys being groomed, loves splashing about in water, playing with tennis balls and of course, treats.

Cody has suffered with ear issues in the past, sometimes requiring antibiotic drops. Regular ear cleaning and monitoring is advisable.
