May I introduce Duke who we are told is 6 years old. He is microchipped but not up to date with vaccinations and still entire.

We were contacted by Essex Police for help after his owner had died and there was nowhere else for him to go. Apparently his mum had been unwell for quite a while which is why he is overweight and lacking back end muscle.

We were contacted by his mum’s sister who advised us he is fine with children and other dogs and that her sister used to take him into care homes to visit the residents.

The kennels describe Duke as a huge sweetheart.

Can you give this lad a home please as he is very confused in kennels.

Lucky Duke went into foster and has now been adopted by his foster family.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
