This young man is Hunter who is a GSD cross Herder. He is currently entire but he is microchipped. Unknown with children as no exposure so older children only. Hunter needs more work with socialisation with other dogs as he currently will put his hackles up and bark. We are told he is good with cats however.
Hunter has been in his home since a pup and is now being rehomed as he is too boisterous around the baby and lack of time for him. He will pull and get excited on lead, but can walk to heel. Weare told he has recall and basic commands. Hunter can be possessive over food and toys.
Our volunteer says:
“Hunter – young, boisterous entire male 2 yrs. Father GSD. Mother Dutch Herder. Lovely coat, looks in great condition. Walks well on a lead, very strong and energetic. Saw another dog whilst walking, ignored it at a distance. Children ran past us, he just wanted to say hello. Loves treats and toys, resource guards them – believe this is due to lack of training.”
Hunter needs a home experienced with the breed that can give him the training, boundaries, stimulation and exercise a dog of his age craves.
