This handsome lad is Louie who will be 2 next April. He is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered! Louie has been in his home since the age of 6 months. Lives happily with a 12 and 7 year old but would be cautious around ‘new’ children. We are told he is playful with other dogs. A no to cats.

Louie is being rehomed as his owners cannot deal with his reactivity to strangers and they don’t trust him, however we suspect this has become a bit of a vicious cycle as he sniffed our volunteer when he came into the room unexpectedly, but he was removed immediately until he was muzzled. When outside, although he was barking and lunging at our volunteer, when she approached he backed behind his dad. Louie comes across as a classic case of nervous aggression and needs a home that understands that and can give him the time and space he needs. He may well benefit from the company and confidence of another dog.

Louie needs much more exercise, stimulation and socialisation than his owners are able to give him, and their lack of trust in him is not helping his confidence. He needs an experienced home who is willing to work with him, knowing that if done correctly, they will end up with the most bonded dog.
