PLEASE NOTE MAX IS BEING ADVERTISED ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER RESCUE.

Max came to FOAL as his owner had sadly passed away and the rest of the family were unable to cope with him, and his behavior.

When Max arrived he was very overwhelmed and showed some aggression to us and anyone he did not know. Although Max has bonded with the staff he can still be very unsure of new people and is not afraid to fend them off.

It is clear that Max has lacked any socialization and needs someone who is willing to slowly work with Max, and us, to help him overcome his insecurities.

Max will bond fiercely with people closest to him and although will pay little attention to people out on walks is very strong on the lead. He is responding well to training here and we are sure that once he is settled in a home this will get better and better.

Max does not like other dogs and this will need to be carefully managed when out and about.

Now we are done with the bad stuff, Max has some amazing qualities.

Once Max bonds with you, you have a friend for life. He loves a ball and a game of tuggy and will spend ages chasing the ball or playing tug with his handler.

Max adores water and will happily swim and paddle in any water he can find, including his water bowl.

Max is an active boy who would do well in an active home with owners who enjoy long walks.

Although this boy has his quirks he is an amazing dog once he is confident with you and has a lot to offer a potential adopter.

If you think you can offer Max his forever home, please have a look on Foal Farms website;

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
