********Sexy Rexy Update******

Rex Nottingham Kennels July 2025 Update
Rex has been officially with the GSRE Nottingham for just over a year after being brought over from Bosnia with another rescue.
This boy needs his own home and people, a firm favourite with the Volunteers and he has recently had a weekend kennel respite with one of our volunteers as he has been a bit fed up in kennels lately.
Our Volunteer has fed back that he is the perfect house guest who is welcome back anytime and is what our volunteer classes an easy dog. They reported he settled in as if he had always lived in a home, he is a confident dog who is happy to take himself into the garden or living room while you are in another room and was left for a short period without stressing
Rex is nearly 8 years old now but is an energetic dog who absolutely loves his walks, he is very good on the lead and no longer chases traffic.
The volunteer said when they tried Rex on a long lead he showed good recall , he can be dog reactive this stems from 2 little dogs running at him barking while he was on a walk but this is easily checked with a firm No and a pull up on his dogmatic this is a work in progress and he is getting better all the time but we believe he needs to be the only dog in the home.
Rex either isn’t toy motivated or is just not used to playing as he did throw a ball about a couple of times and did enjoy a bit if tug of war with some soft toys, he did get more playful as the weekend went on

This handsome lad is Rex.

Rex originally came over from Bosnia, he is under another rescue but we have agreed to try and help find Rex a home.

This lovely boy is a Mali x GSD, he’s 7 years old, fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered.

Rex is a lover of all people, everyone he meets gets a good face wash and lots of cuddles.

He’s quite strong on the lead but he does listen and he’s very willing to learn.
He enjoys his walks and he’s happy to be groomed.

Rex is in need of some training when walking near traffic as he will try and chase vehicles, this is done we think out of frustration but again he does listen to commands and he will stop if told.

Rex has been walked along with four more dogs and he hasn’t shown any reactivity but he will need to be the only pet in the household and we wouldn’t place him in a home with children.

This gorgeous boy deserves a chance, he has so much love to give.

We are ideally looking for an experienced home that has the time to help Rex to be the dog he can be.
