May I introduce Vida who us a 2 year old Dutch Herder. Vida is not spayed and owner does not know when her last season was. Not been vaccinated since a pup but is microchipped.

Vida has been in her home since a pup and is now being rehomed as her owner does not have the time to give her with family commitments and finds her too strong to walk. She is good with children but not other dogs we are told, and a definite no to cats. When our volunteer walked her, she sat her down when other dogs approached and kept her calm so socialisation and good training just required.

Vida is used to being left for reasonable periods and travels well. Does pull to start on a walk but probably needs a lot more exercise than she is getting. Good recall (if no other dogs around) and basic commands and no issues over food or toys.

Typically barks and jumps at the door when people knock but soon settled when our volunteer visited.

Vida comes from working lines and would make a super dog for an experienced handler who can give her the exercise and training she craves.

Vida was adopted but sadly the adopter decided he could not trust her around his children due to her protective traits. She did not show any aggression towards his children at any time, but due to her lunging at other dogs when out, he had been nipped/bitten a couple of times and she also managed to nip a boy on his bike when out. Our feeling because he invaded her space and rather surprising with social distancing in place.

Please do not overlook this beautiful girl as she was everything it said on the tin and just needs and experienced owner to give her the training she needs and she craves learning.

Vida has found herself a super new working home.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
