Shakira, Shakira! This lovely girl is a GSD cross Akita. She is 3 years old, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

Shakira is in need of a new home as her mum is terminally ill.

She is good with older children, other dogs and cats although we are told she can get overexcited with all! She has never been left before so would need some adjustment to that.

Shakira is currently walked on a harness and can pull at times. Recall is selective but has basic commands.

She was in commercial kennels where she was placed by her owner’s friend and was not very happy. In the kennels she was nervous of meeting new people as she had no idea what was going on bless her.

She originally came from another rescue (who did not want her back) so we do not know her full history but she does flinch when you raise a hand.

Our volunteer did manage to make friends with her and she allowed him to feel her all over. Was very confident with the staff at the kennels.

Now in our kennels and being a sweetheart.

Shakira has left to start a wonderful new life.

After a long and happy life Shakira has passed over Rainbow Bridge.
