Ivar is only a year old, fully vaccinated, chipped but still entire. He’s a big lad and a good example of the breed.
He came into us through no fault of his and he really didn’t like his first few nights in the kennels.
Ivar is quite shy when meeting new people, he needs lots of reassurance and then loves nothing more than a huge cuddle which is more like a bear hug!
This lovely boy is quite strong on the lead at the beginning of a walk but he soon settles down, he’s walked alongside busy roads, seen joggers etc and shown no reaction at all.
Ivar loves to play and he’s got no issues with toys, he’s quite happy to play tug or football, he really doesn’t mind as long as he’s got a playmate.
We have seen no issues around food or treats but he can be a picky eater and choosy with treats, however if a pigs ear is on offer he’ll love you forever.
Ivar hasn’t been great around the other dogs so we would say that he needs to be the only dog in the home, he’s a no to cats and would need to be around older children only mainly due to his size and strength.
Everyone who meets Ivar loves him, he has an amazing nature and will make a fabulous family dog.
Ivar knows the basic commands and he likes to ‘go through’ legs which isn’t a bad thing unless he’s out walking and decides to do it – then it’s gets awkward!
He really is a genuine, polite good dog that will thrive with the right people.
