Meet the lovely Bernard. He is 8yrs young, He is now neutered. He is vaccinated with his booster needed in November 14 and chipped.
This poor older boy has been beaten in the past and this shows itself at the moment when strangers approach his kennel he has a little grumble which is understandable but we are hoping with time and patience he will learn to trust us. The pound asked us to go and see if we thought weather it was wrth giving him a chance and as you can see here he is! He has shown no aggression at all since being with us just unsure of everything.
We will test him with other dogs but I think a home without children would be nice for him, cats unknown at present.
He loves to go for walks but does pull like a train so some work needed there. He knows sit but that is about all, no recall that we know of.
He is currently on some anti biotics for sores around his neck caused by a collar or chain, also ear drops as he has sore ears but he should be like new very soon, we will make sure of it.
Our assessor said once he had accepted her being there and out of the kennel he is a lovely lad who wants to please, wags his tail and enjoys your company. In time he will make someone a friend for life, could this be you?
It was discovered that poor Bernie had a cancerous tumour taking over. He continued to enjoy life and have fun for many months more than we expected but sadly had to finally leave us. x
