1. Bruce

May I introduce Bruce who is 2 years old. He is microchipped and vaccinated but still entire. Only being rehomed due to his owner having knee issues meaning he is not getting the exercise he needs. This is what our volunteer had to say about him: “Bruce is a GSD...
  2. Benny

Benny was 3 in September. We are told he is a GSD cross Mali. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Benny is good with children but we would suggest older children only as he can be possessive over food on occasion. Fine with most dogs but like many, will take...
  3. Luca

Have a look at this absolutely stunning boy. His name is Luca and he is still very much a baby at 13 month old. Fully vaccinated, chipped and of course still entire. Believe it or not but this boy was on the PTS list in the pound when we managed...
  4. Athena

  5. Ned

ADVERTISING ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER RESCUE Ned is a 6 year old Malinois. He is a very affectionate dog and is eager to please. He loves to run and play and well on his lead. Ned came to us as a stray so we don’t have any history on him...
  6. Lola

Lola’s current owners have not had her long but took her in from a male owner who was struggling. Unfortunately they cannot really give Lola what she needs either so she is looking for a new home again. She will be 3 in February.  Lola is microchipped but vaccinations are...
  7. Rocky

Rocky is a GSD cross Husky we are told. He is just 1 year of age. He is microchipped and vaccinated but not yet neutered. He is not a large lad but being rehome by his elderly owner who says he is too big and boisterous for him to manage....
  8. Henry

Another young lad picked up as a stray: “We have called him Henry here.  He is approx. 18 months, unvaccinated and unneutered.  He has usual bouncy nature but is very friendly and has dog tested well with a young lively female.  He was very underweight when he came in but...
  9. Hunter

We were contacted by a vets who had been asked to put to sleep this handsome lad. He had apparently bitten but the vets did not feel it was his fault, the wrong environment and they had never seen adverse behaviour. Hunter will be 2 in April. He is neutered,...
  10. Finnegan

The message we received: “Hi Lizzy, it really is never ending isn’t it? I’ve got this boy in the pound that’s friendly & really needs somewhere to go. This is Ryder, they’ve said he’s a large adult dog, but I’ve asked for an age. I was wondering if you could...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
