This handsome lad is Kane who is coming up to 8 years, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Kane came into us from a pound having been picked up as a stray. A typical lad who has had to look after himself, he loves people, but in his own time and space. Been no problem with other large dogs around the kennels but he can be dominant with them so needs to be the only dog please.No young children as we do not know his history and unknown with cats.

Kane had a perineal hernia which has been operated on, but will need to be monitored. Because of this he does not like his back end being fussed with as you can appreciate.

Kane did have a spell in a home where the couple were teaching him to not protect the front door but sadly he started grumbling at the man of the house and they did not have the experience to stay on top of this.

“This lad is our second longest resident in kennels he is growing old in kennels poor lad he’s coming up to 8 years old and has almost been with us 3 years nobody has come to meet him or shown any interest! He is getting sad and bored being in kennels it’s the same old everyday he would love a family of his own he is a very loyal dog and playful he may be 8 but his like a puppy!

Once he knows you he really is a sweetheart loves a cuddle and is so clever his amazing very willing to learn new things as well he’s a very quick learner! He could possibly live with a calm bitch and be rehomed with older children only please he was picked up as a stray from the pound and was overlooked he really is a stunner I can’t understand why nobody has shown interest? You can see his been very well bred very strong posture he loves his toys especially his jolly ball!! He will do anything for a treat! He also travels well in the car and is very clean in his kennel.

Kane has had a foster holiday and this is what foster mum says about him:

“Kane has had a short holiday with us and we’ve loved having him here. He is a much over looked chap. He’s lovely and if you let him come to you, and not push it..he will be your loyal friend. Absolutely no aggression or dominance was shown when with us. In fact he’s a happy relatively easy chap to handle.

Loves his toys, is active and lively for his age. Clean and quiet for a shepherd. He’s lovely to walk as he doesn’t lunge or shout at other passing dogs, ignores traffic and will sit quietly beside you.
Perhaps an older couple would like this chap as a companion?
Loyal loving and in need of a fireside home for his retirement please…
Kane could live with a dog that leaves him alone and isn’t in his face.
He’s the sort of dog you could take for lovely long walks and sit outside the pub. He’s well behaved and listens and wants to please.

Don’t leave this lad in kennels any longer!
He doesn’t look or act his age either he’s a sprightly lad.”

This lad deserves to be in a home please.

Kane has been in foster for a while now and will be staying put.
